State Fair!!!

What We Learned at the State Fair

The Train Ride
We rode the Frontrunner and the Trax trains down to the fair!  We learned about good manners and how to behave on and around trains!

Little Hands on the Farm
After lunch we headed over to the Little Hands on the Farm exhibit.  Everyone loved pretending to be farmers and learning about the animals and the jobs that must be done around the farm!  When we were finished we used our hard earned "dollars" at the store to buy a snack!!

The Animals!
We walked through and saw all the different kinds of animals!  We learned about how they look, act, and sound.

We had a lot of fun, and we learned a lot about farms and agriculture in Utah!

We want to say a very special, "Thank You!" to Becca's Mom, Ms Wendy, for joining us on our trip and everything you did to make it successful!

Week 2

Wacky Week 2

"A Week!"
Our preschoolers are practicing a different letter each week.  We started with a and we did several activities to learn all about it.

New Friends!
We added a couple of new friends to our group this week!!!

Computer Skills!
We are experimenting with our computer skills!  We have been tying some of the letters we are learning.  We also play educational computer games and websites.

"Apple Day!"
For show and tell we all brought apples to share with the class!  We tasted all the different kinds of apples, compared their characteristics, and made graphs to show which ones are our favorites!  The preschoolers used apple seeds to turn the letter a into an apple!

Fine Motor Skills!
We practiced our fine motor skills using melty beads, and made some really fun projects!

Creative Writing!
Our kindergarteners are practicing their creative writing skills!  We finish pictures, answer questions about ourselves, and make up stories about pictures we color.  We enjoy discussing our new stories and remembering old ones.

 Hard at Work!
Our 7th grader is studying hard in Math, Science, Language Arts, and History.  She is working on a journal about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad.

Preparing for the Fair!
To help us get ready for the fair, we discussed what we would see and what we wanted to learn while we were there.

Hear the Lions ROAR!
We looked at pictures of lions, watched a short clip about lions, and listened to a lion's roar!  Then we made paper bag puppets of lions and made our own ferocious noises!

Our First Week

Back to School!

Our first week back was busy and exciting!

Our First Day
We all took pictures of the way we looked on our first day of the brand new school year!  It will be fun to see how much we grow and change as we learn.

Our Classroom
This year we have new cubbies to keep our backpacks and other belongings safe in one place.  Our jackets and coats will hang on the hooks in the hall and will fit much better without backpacks!

Our Preschool/Kindergarten students are excited to start our Bridges Program this year.  Our assignments in class and at home will help us master important Readiness Skills!

Getting to Know You
We brought baby pictures and our All About Me Posters for our first week of show and tell!  We hung the posters and pictures in the hall so all our friends can look at them!  If you still need a poster let Ms Lori or Miss Hillori know.

Recess!!
We have been enjoying our beautiful playground during recess.  It's a great time to make friends and play together!

Decorating!
We used our new paints to make some stars to hang up in the hallway!

Laughing Together
Every day we hear a new joke.  We get to illustrate that joke.  Here are a few from our first week!

Lions!
We started our study of lions by making masks and pretending to be big cats!  What a good looking pride!

Name Art
Our Friday art project had us using our new bottles of glue!  We wrote our names in glue, and ripped pieces of paper to stick on top!  We are awesome!!!
